This day in 1988 Marvel UK released a new comic. Pretty much a high-octane 80s action movie on paper, Simon Furman’s & Geoff Senior’s Dragon’s Claws! Then on this day in 2023 I started reading the whole series for the first time! Check out the first issue’s review here: oink.blog/2023/06/11/d... 🐉💅🐽

Like they juxtapose wildly different frames like this without comment or justification.
Is there any writing on the who/how/why of framing in art galleries? Fascinated by how they justify these grotesque things.
PEOPLE OF LEEDS – where’s a good spot for coffee and cake in the town centre?
If the frame is chosen by the artist, fine, there’s intention there. Otherwise, stop upstaging the art with finely crafted grotesquerie.
Still holding out for a present-day Mad Men sequel with Turner as Sally Draper. Exactly the right age.
