Tech companies (incl. techified goods & services like Uber) are constantly looking to escape liability and accountability; to escape labour obligations to their workers; and to generally pass every buck to someone else. This is a widespread problem across the entire industry, and every country.

BREAKING: Congress is moving to shield Uber and Lyft from lawsuits over crashes, injuries, and assaults. A provision tucked into a must-pass transportation bill makes drivers individually liable in many cases — protecting the apps unless victims can prove “gross negligence” or criminal wrongdoing.
