Lord Frost doesn't seem to care, but his government enacted in the CTBSA 2019 that a border area includes a mile long strip along the NI land border. The police have the enforcement powers they need. The issue is returning people to a safe country (see Brexit) and resourcing. Section 64 of the Act:
