Typical bereavement support can be helpful, but sometimes isn't enough for children experiencing traumatic bereavement.
Our project the UK Trauma Council’s training is available for just this situation, for practitioners to help a child manage trauma AND grieve a loss:
When someone important in a child’s life dies, it's likely a painful time.
But sometimes the trauma of the death gets in the way, making it difficult to even start to grieve.
Children may get heightened anxiety, fear or be overwhelmed by reminders of the death.
We call this traumatic bereavement.
