I should add, these were taken at Chew Valley Lake. In case anyone else wants to know. Thanks Pete for noticing I hadn’t put that in
I haven’t posted much for a while, so thought it was about time to put a couple together. Here are some of the Great Bustards on Salisbury Plain, from last Sunday (12th). Some fairly close displaying, was brilliant to watch #UKWildlife
Taken a while to get these sorted, sorry about that. But, here are some pix of the pair of Lesser Scaup, all taken last Saturday (28th March 26). Hope they are worth the wait? #UKWildlife
A second attempt to photograph the Drake Common Scoter, at Blagdon Lake today, was a surprise as they are usually one day birds. But, I’m glad it stuck around, showed well for this species locally….although the flap was a bit distant…#UKBirds
Forsters Tern, Poole Park last Sunday (8th), showed really well, but we were all let down by the misty, dull & horrible weather. But still better views than I had at Arne… #UKBirds
This Sunday decided to go to Swineham Point to see the Red-spotted Bluethroat, with @ajordanwildlife (thanks for driving mate), the walk wasn’t helped by my dodgy knees, but was well worth it… stunning little bird #UKWildlife
Finally a day with some sunshine at Chew Valley Lake. Not a lot around sadly, but the Drake Ring-necked Duck showed well in Herons Green Bay #UKBirds
Its that time of year again....Calendar time....i am making 2 again this, i have one with photos taken in the UK & Iceland, and the other from my trip to Antarctica & South America. So if anyone is interested, please contact me via Messenger, WhatsApp or DM me here…enjoy
Trip to try to photograph a Bairds Sandpiper at Rutland y/day, with @bri66thomp turned out well, as you can see. Good to see some friends there too, & many well behaved too
A return visit this morning, to Chew Valley Lake, turned into a good move, when the 1st Red-necked Grebe since 2012 was found. A Summer plumaged bird too….sadly stayed too distant for decent pix. But, when the Spotted Sandpiper lands right in front of you, it eases that…#UKBirds
