California’s elected officials are delusional in thinking they can force insurance companies to insure the uninsurable. You can pass any law you want, but if a house is worth $750k and climate models predict it will almost certainly burn within 20 years what rates would YOU charge them?

I first heard of the “Frontiers in…” predatory journal group recently, when invited to edit a special issue of Frontiers in Political Science. I said no based on reports of stuff like this—even in those few Frontiers journals that used to be ok. Clearly, I dodged a bullet. Caveat editor.
This Collins/Fetterman comparison shows the gap between partisan *interests* and partisan *psychology.* Fetterman’s aggressive, taunting rejection of the party’s positions *on some highly salient issues* drives Dem activists crazy. But even the most “moderate” Republican harms our agenda far more.
