i have been obsessed with this for years. allowing manufacturers to sell direct to consumers would be good for consumers and also destroying the car dealership would be an existential crisis for republicans
I cannot think of a more flagrant example of all that is corrupt, immoral & wrong with Dem Party politics than Elon Musk becoming a trillionaire & then Gavin Newsom, a union & Planned Parenthood fighting to help billionaires block blue-state voters from even voting on a measure to tax billionaires.
I have been working on societal impacts of language technology since late 2016, and my nightmare example since pretty early on has been using automatic transcription in emergency services systems.
And today I learn it's happening *in my own city*
