So excited to share this commentary!
If you’re at #OHBM2026 and want to hear about effect sizes in fMRI, I’ll be talking about our tool BrainEffeX at 11:30 on Wednesday and a new method of modeling effect size distributions at 3:45 on Wednesday!

So glad to finally share work years in the making! What started with fMRI effect size benchmarks ended up showing that conventional study planning detects ~half of expected brain effects, suggesting more distributed processes than the lit shows
(+ new methods for mass univ effect/power estimation)
A bit belated, but it was such a pleasure seeing the lab showcase all their excellent hard work at #CNS2026! Go team!! 🚀
(+ guest appearance from @psycheloui.bsky.social ‘s awesome lab)
Our paper on improving statistical reporting in psychology is now online 🎉
As a part of this paper, we also created the Transparent Statistical Reporting in Psychology checklist, which researchers can use to improve their statistical reporting practices
