OTD 85 years ago German paratroopers massacred 180 inhabitants of the village of Kandanos in Crete. This followed the massacre of Kondomari the day before. Kondomari is one of the most extraordinarily well documented war crimes of the Wehrmacht. @garius.bsky.social @rgpoulussen.bsky.social
