and so I tend to be skeptical of framings abt the Trueness of art based on its proximity to marketing etc What do you REALLY know about a game's development? Is it more artistic because it was free of the influence of capital, or was that person was able to say their piece bc of preexisting wealth
I've said this a lot of times and esp in A Pivot To Indie Won't Save Us but to make games you generally need money from somewhere, and the ability to make ANYTHING you want usually comes from another, 'realer' job elsewhere, whether that's your parents or you burning yourself out on weekends
