"Instead of canceling grants en masse, as the N.I.H. did in the first year of this Trump presidency, it is now vetting them before approval with a 'computational text analysis tool' that scans for terms including 'racism,' 'gender' and 'vaccination refusal'..." 🧪 www.nytimes.com/2026/04/22/s...

"They physically grabbed us, forced us out of the conference center, & now are telling us we can no longer attend this meeting. They're taking our lanyards," Kelly said. "It really has come to this in America. Censorship is real…America needs to stand up. Scientists, stand up. Physicians, stand up”
Must-read. Everything that Vought has done to science in the past 16 months is now laid bare as a plan to “cripple science research.” Five-alarm fire and all of us must respond. Speak out, focus on Vought.
Sad events here at #ADA26 - ADA has chosen the side of this administration - pretending it's unsafe to an invited federal speaker to hand out an editorial - over supporting its own leadership who've dedicated countless volunteer hours to the org's right to protest. www.nytimes.com/2026/06/05/w...

The NIH’s spending on new medical research is significantly slower than in previous years, leaving confused scientists in the lurch.
