The ĂIST speech recognition system is now publicly available. This web app lets anyone submit a video or audio file with Scottish Gaelic speech and receive back a transcript. A hugely useful tool - congratulations to Prof Will Lamb and the rest of the team!

Very disappointing that there are no fluent Gaelic speakers in the new Scottish Parliament. There were 3 in the last one. But framing it as 'despite' recent funding is ridiculous - it's a consequence of language shift and lack of support and status over centuries
