In 1916 Russia launched the largest offensive of WW1, and perhaps the most successful. Part of Allied strategy to pressure on all fronts. Moved it up to receive pressure on the German assault on Verdun. Over 1 million casualties on both sides. Austria-Hungary barely survived.

Basil Rathbone, THE greatest Sherlock Holmes, served in WW1. He started as a Private in the London Scottish Regiment, ultimately serving as an Intelligence Officer for the King's Liverpool Regiment (Liverpool Scottish). Received the Military Cross in 1918. Became a legend in feature films and TV.
Once WW1 ended Kimberly-Clark needed an alternative for the material they used for gas mask filters. Initially marketed for removing makeup and cold cream, people realized they were ideal for blowing your nose in winter. Kleenex became "the handkerchief you could throw away". #WW1
