This is the correct take, and if you don't think so, let me tell you in HS my soccer team was getting beat 10-0 and my coach took me off defense and into the forward position just long enough for me to score a goal, then moved me back to defense. Scoring against a better opponent always matters.

…got beat 7-1, but scoring on Germany *in the World Cup* was so astounding the goal itself remains one of the most entertaining moments of the tournament so far.
