I was watching the Pitt last night. One patient had mixed alcohol and cocaine and it had sent them psychotic. Something to do with how the liver breaks down the chemicals. Anyway, that would have made for an interesting Bond movie.

There's the odd moment in the Bond books that does speak to the era it takes place in.
This, where Bond is off to play a game of bridge that is vital to national security (don't), so to keep him on top of his game stirs speed into his champagne with toast is a whole narrow era of its own.
