Finding myself at a conference with a bunch of people doing humanities research in the Baltic States and having to explain that there's no way my work will pay for me to go to Tartu next year to hang out with them again.
I trashpicked an Alesis Quadrasynth and corresponding stand in my old neighborhood today, promptly busted a couple of keys getting it into the car, and now I need to find an electrical cable to see if the dang thing actually works before I try to replace the busted keys.
RE: Cape Verdean music! in 2019, this record was reissued by Analog Africa and it had me entranced from the first few notes. its weird and danceable but deeply sad and raw at times. highest possible recommendation
