As you can see from the posts this week, we concentrated our #SeaTurtleWeek cleanups where we thought they would have the most positive impact around nesting sites. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean #CoastalCleanup #Microplastics #OceanMonth #SeaTurtleWeek #SeaTurtles #NestingSites
Microplastics change sand temperature, and therefore birth ratio, through temperature-dependent sex determination (TSD). Plastic pollution also profoundly threatens marine ecosystems through ingestion and entanglement hazards. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean

Unfortunately, our research and related posts are often attacked by “merchants of doubt” who lobby for corporate plastic and oil interests and call our claims about plastic pollution and toxicity exaggerated. This is what we’re up against. #FridayFieldUpdate

Trump removes protections by lifting fishing bans in three Pacific Marine National Monuments: the Papahānaumokuākea, Mariana Trench, and Rose Atoll marine national monuments. This threatens unique corals, sharks, and other endangered species. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean

We're working to protect our ocean and restore our coasts, but we can't do it without your help. Your donation directly supports awareness, conservation, and hands-on cleanup and restoration efforts. Every dollar makes a difference. 💙🌊🪸🌱 www.gofundme.com/f/support-we...
Our cleanup volunteers average 1-2.5 lbs of collected debris. High-impact days like July 5th can increase to 3 lbs. per person. A typical group of 50 to 100 volunteers averages around 100-200 lbs. of debris per 2–4-hour event, with combined statewide collections exceeding 100,000 lbs.
Per/Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) “Forever Chemicals.” Research discovered that intense ultraviolet light can break down PFAS, generating hydrogen radicals that attack and fragment these chemicals. #WetTribe #TidetotheOcean #FridayFieldUpdate #PFAS
