These bus lanes should be setup in a manner to enable aggressive signal priority and reduce conflict with turning vehicles. This could be achieved by building them in the middle of the street rather than the curb.
We only compare ourselves to other North American agencies like the MTA, who regularly have some of the worlds highest construction costs. In order to get crucial transit projects funded and built, we need to acknowledge the transit cost problem and aggressively combat it. 4/4
TMU station (formerly Dundas) will be the first station to get this installed, at a cost of $2 million. There are plans to install fences and AI detection at four more stations next year. The city is requesting funding from the feds and province to install the proper PED system. 2/2
