beyond 5 years. 3D Zelda also consistently gets new games, but TOTK was 6 years after BOTW, and the next 3D Zelda might take just as long if not longer with the OoT in between and Zelda always being incredibly ambitious. 2D & 3D Metroid could be like the 4 series but it’s hard to say right now (5/5)
The Forgotten Land, XC3, Scarlet & Violet and Engage were within a 1 year timespan; and now Fortune’s Weave, Winds & Waves, Xenoblade Genesis, and probably the next new Kirby will be within 1 year too with Kirby probably being 2027. Mario Party and Paper Mario also consistently get new games, (3/?)
A part of me believes GTA 6 affected Nintendo's late 2026 lineup. I wouldn't be surprised if there were supposed to be 1 or 2 more games revealed in the June Direct released later this year, but got delayed to 2027. Ocarina of Time and Duskbloods don't even have confirmed release dates yet. (1/?)
is Monolithsoft’s passion project that they get to work on in exchange for providing support on various other Nintendo games. They’re so consistent that new games pretty much release close to each. XC2, Star Allies, 3H’s, and Sword & Shield released with a 2 year timespan of each other, (2/?)
but in between Super Mario Party and Jamboree was a 6 year timespan with a remake collection celebration in between. TTYD Remake was 4 years after Origami King and it’s been 6 years since OK. These series will probably continue to get remakes in between that increase the gap between new games (4/?)
I believe these would've been 2D Metroid (Metroid 6 or Super Metroid Remake) and the next new Kirby. It's been 4-5 years since the last games, Hal is always working on Kirby, and 2D is MercurySteam's primary Nintendo series. Maybe 1 or both will be revealed in a Sept Direct for Early 2027. (2/2)
Like I’m pretty confident in believing that Xenoblade is now one of those Nintendo series that’ll consistently get new games at a reasonable enough rate (5 years or less) like Kirby, Pokemon, and Fire Emblem, because of this

Right now Nintendo has 4 series that consistently get new games within a 5 year or less timespan between games. Kirby, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and Xenoblade. This is because these series have dedicated teams that primarily focus on them. Hal, TPC, and IS partially own these series, and Xenoblade (1/?)

Star Fox, Rhythm Heaven Groove, Splatoon Raiders and Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave is a pretty solid lineup for the next 3 months. If they’re all great, then I’d say these games alone would carry Nintendo’s 2026 alongside Pokopia and make it better than their 2025
