Update: watched episode one. Astonishing location work, definitely a comedy-drama rather than a straight drama, likeable protagonists, scene-chewing villains and, erm, more sex than ten-year-old me noticed.

I absolutely loved this series when I was a kid and they showed it on TVOntario. I don't know if it's stood the test of time (and/or adulthood) but it does look like it could be a lot of fun.
