Very happy that the second paper from my PhD is now available!
We dove into one family of Verrucomicrobiota to evaluate their adaptations to different environments, focusing on the animal associated and aquatic groups. Check it out!
#February11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. At our institute, we are proud to have women at all career stages — from student to director. Their work and dedication lead the way for future generations of women in marine science! 👩🔬💡

What a beautiful city for the #SAME18 to be held! I’m excited to hear and see some great science and learn about what’s new in aquatic microbial ecology 🌊 @same18-bcn.bsky.social
Very proud to announce that I successfully defended my PhD last week!
I am especially honoured that I defended on the 100th birthday of #SirDavidAttenborough. I started my thesis with his quote “an understanding of the natural world and what’s in it is a source of not only a great curiosity but great fulfilment”. Happy birthday, and thank you for being an inspiration!
Thank you to everybody who made this work possible, was involved in the many discussions over the years, and those who simply supported me on this journey. I am excited to see what comes next!
