This might be one of the most insane scandals in game history
When Pokemon Go players scan PokeStops, theyve been unknowingly building a detailed visual model of the world which is being sold to a military contractor to build a no-GPS positioning for the new generation of unmanned killing machines
People are really just out there blaming anyone but the billionaires actually responsible for every crisis we're dealing with.
I consider myself a consummate professional, but if you tell me you’re laying off employees under embargo, I would feel morally obligated to break that embargo as soon as possible so that employees could make arrangements. I’ve been in the mad-rush mode following a surprise layoff. It’s awful.

Court holds Google liable for false claims in AI Overviews. Seems significant.
"A regular search engine just points to outside websites. But AI overviews generate 'independent, new, and substantive statements' by evaluating and combining content from various third-party sites" the-decoder
The Authors Guild are in partnership with an AI Licensing company. They're trying to funnel members to this company in the guise of 'earning more' from their books. But even if an author is paid for a 3 year licence, their books are in the meat grinder for good. There's no way to extract titles.

According to the court, previous limited liability protections for search engine operators don't apply to AI overviews. In this case, Google's AI had falsely linked two publishers to fraud and made claims that didn't appear in any of the linked sources. The ruling could set a precedent for AI-generated content liability worldwide.

Ubisoft EMBARGOED news to outlets about the layoffs and studio closures, FYI.
Employees were told this morning. And then many reached out to us.
Companies trying to embargo layoffs and closures might be the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen in my 16 years.
