The World Cup marks eras of my childhood. I remember where I watched the 98 final with my parents, the kid in my class who had on his home PC the World Cup 2002 game, and the Pizza shop we loitered at to watch Zidan’s headbutt in 2006 final. Driving in Philly today, it all hit me really hard. Epic.

So many questions about the ICE custody death of Philly immigrant Tuan Van Bui, child of the Vietnam War, welcomed here in 1990, violently arrested in 2025 The biggest: Why do other detainees tell such a different story from ICE about how he died? My special report www.inquirer.com/opinion/tuan...

In 1990, the U.S. welcomed Tuan Van Bui, other young Amerasians. In 2025, ICE violently arrested him. Why did he die in custody?

The new newsroom interns are closer in age to my 8 year old daughter than they are to me.

Watching videos of Knicks fans after the game last night and I *never* want to hear national pundits chirping at Philly sports fans ever again.
I haven't posted a single time about the Platner tattoo saga, and not because I don't have takes, and I think that shows growth that I'm not getting credit for.
A hard read. Bari Weiss directly and explicitly doing the type of journalistic crimes she accused her colleagues at NYT of doing implicitly. Also just cruel. 60 Minutes probably needs a revamp. Every medium from 1968 does. Do Weiss and Bilton actually have a vision here? You won, what now? Shameful.
C-SPAN should broadcast the game since Trump is there.

I was at the Linc for the Eagles last two NFC championship wins. I was at the Bank for the NLDS games against the Mets — a deep rooted rivalry. Nothing I saw came close to the abhorrent way [some] in NYC are treating Spurs fans. Absolutely not even close.
A movie called TokenPocalypse about a not so distant future in which a small group of people control access to the internet through AI tokens and there is a whole segment of society that is locked out and has to use analogue. Shyamalan twist! They are fine without rooting brains.

And yes — instructing a correspondent to falsely describe a video of a federal agent fatally shooting a woman in a major U.S. city in service of the administration is a journalist crime, at minimum.
