Three observations on this:
1. This campaign against the British PM is but one component of a large-scale unconventional war that the Kremlin is waging against European democracy.
2. Be careful when you see smears against the politicians YOU hate. Russia prays on our divisions.
Very clear signaling from the U.S. to Russia:
-Don’t you dare try anything!
Also: -Here you go.
In Turkey, the main opposition leader was jailed on corruption charges 2025, and his replacement was just ousted by a court on similar charges.
Is there corruption in the opposition? Probably some.
Is there corruption in the regime? Massive.
Are the charges politically motivated? Certainly.
Russia is at war with the US and NATO.
Trump and Musk are helping.

The reason I’m often posting on this topic is to raise awareness because the general understanding doesn’t match the severity of the problem. The security establishment in 🇷🇺believes they’re in a WAR with us. Few in Europe truly believe that. That creates an imbalance of will to fight.

US head of European command: ”My job” is to ensure that “Russia understands that, should they try something in the Baltic States they won’t succeed. Because they know they won’t succeed, they won’t take the risk on something like that.”

3. As in this story, Russian intelligence recruits sometimes unknowing agents in Europe via messaging apps & pays them to commit subversive acts. Two could play that game. Europe needs to start retaliating in order to establish deterrence in this undeclared war.
P.S. For more on Russia’s undeclared and unconventional but large-scale war against democracy in the West and beyond, see my short Substack series “Is Russia winning?”
“Russian operatives ran their sabotage and provocation campaign remotely through social media and the messaging app Telegram, we found, creating fake online far-right and Muslim groups, which were used to organise acts of vandalism in the UK and stir up division and fear.“+
Really important that this story gets out there.
Classic Kremlin disinfomation and smear campaign and lots of people even on this site fell for it.

Evidence shows Russians directing the plot and stoking tensions with fake far-right and Muslim groups.
Paul I just don't think this is appreciated or even understood very well in the UK in particular. In other parts of Europe there would be more awareness. But in the UK it seems somehow far-fetched, or like a crazy conspiracy theory the left dreams up to discredit the far-right...
