There are two true alleys in Manhattan - Cortlandt Alley by Canal St & Mechanics Alley by the Manhattan Bridge. Shubert Alley (basically part of a mall) doesn’t count, nor does Washington Mews (gated, NYU).

I’m a very forgiving reader but one thing that will always set me off is mentioning dumpsters in NYC, Manhattan especially- we very famously don’t have those! It’s a huge problem!
