When HKers donated clothes and necessities to the survivors of the Tai Po fire and created a makeshift memorial for those who lost their lives, the HK government actually took all that away and threw it into the trash, and even arrested a few people for being compassionate!
He realizes that the HK government had effectively stomped out the major avenues for collective empathy, right.
Not to mention the June 4th vigil is now banned. HKers are not apathetic, the government is just afraid of collective empathy as anyone with a conscience can see who has inflicted/ is still inflicting collective pain.
Empathy still exists! As does collective memory and common desire for change! It’s hard to argue HKers are apathetic. But how can you truly express it when *anything* done as a collective is frowned upon because the government is scared shitless of its own people
I can't... anyone who has any idea of global intellectual history can see how not making any sense this is
*shocked pikachu face*
