[2/3] From a virulent phage previously found in our lab we noted that the closest relatives where not virulent phages but bacterial genome sequences. Surprisingly, we identified many virulent phage genomes within publicly available assemblies. This points to prevalent
non-canonical phage lifestyles.

Check out our new Preprint phages with a peculiar lifestyle
www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti..., Another unexpected result coming from Peter Dougherty's 2nd paper of his PhD. About phages targeting key wheat phyllosphere bacterial members. With surprising (interupted, modifyed and large) genetics... Out today, Check it out :)
[1/3] Is your favorite bacterial isolate hiding a surprise lytic virus with a VERY different lifestyle? Finally I can proudly say that our paper on persistent phages is out in Nature Microbiology. rdcu.be/eWJEp. Well done @peterdoug.bsky.social
Over 15,000 doctors have signed a letter imploring the US Senate to reject Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s confirmation for Secretary of HHS.
The letter states:
