I’m midway through this excellent book. I strongly recommend it. It’s opening whole new vistas for me. It’s an excellent companion to Barry Cunliffe’s books: for example, The Scythians and Facing the Sea of Sand.

Gave a talk last night at Wolfson College (Cambridge) all about my book. Always fun when it is done as a conversation ... I never know what I am going to say at any given moment 😅.
People got around in the Ancient World much more than we often think of. I remember an account of an Egyptian religious token (small statue of one of the gods) found along the silk road in far west China, African elephant tusks in a 3rd-c BCE tomb in Guangdong, etc...
