This interdisciplinary research combined computational techniques to collect & analyze data with social movement theory. "As engineers, we're good at collecting & analyzing large amounts of data, but extracting meaning from them requires an interdisciplinary approach," he says.
"This is an opportunity for policymakers and health officials as online discourse can be used to identify emerging topics and ideas that might have public safety implications," says Stringhini.
