Imagine owning Double Fine and even *considering* closing it. The history of Double Fine is the history of the games industry itself. This is a crime.

BREAKING: Several Xbox studios, including Compulsion, Ninja Theory and Double Fine, are negotiating with Xbox as they try to avoid closure. Some or all could spin off.
Lots still in flux as many studios remain unsure about what's happening.
Here's the latest: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
The studios, which include Compulsion Games and Double Fine, are in active negotiations with Xbox and may be given the chance to go independent.
TIL the Victorians would have rocked at making 90s dino-themed platformers.

Thanks to everyone who took part in this and supplied far far more photos than we could fit in a single article.
They were frankly far too good to go to waste, so I've put a few in a google drive album: drive.google.com/drive/u/0/fo...

The Nintendo DS/3DS enjoys a strange afterlife among digital creatives.
I spoke to @mattnava.bsky.social about when he painted Journey's concept art with a DS Lite in a desert, and Art Academy's creator and 3DS photographers about its artistic relevance.

I honored my Spanish heritage by going into the jungle looking for gold and getting lost. I also may have stabbed teammates along the way. The Mound kinda rips. Hands-on preview for @gamewatcher.com: www.gamewatcher.com/the-mound-om...

I can finally reveal the cover for Nobuo Uematsu: On The Record, coming from @viz.com this September, which is not far away. Cover portrait of Uematsu by Yoshitaka Amano, foreword written by Hironobu Sakaguchi, testimonials from awesome guest stars, and tons of surprises!

We've played ACE Team's The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu ahead of its July launch, and it's feeling like a unique and flavourful take on co-op horror.
Also inspired - of course - by the famously inaccurate dinosaur statues in Crystal Palace. (I took these photos myself when I visited, it's very near where I live.)
