A thing that goes under-mentioned is how dramatic a spiral can be caused by any interruption in care for ADHD. I was medicated in September. I needed to re-up, but my doctor had left her practice, and a new doctor needed to have an appointment with me - even just telehealth! - before prescribing.

Within 2-3 days of being put back on my ADHD meds @bellmore.bsky.social was shocked at how much being medicated helped me. My PCP in Michigan refused to renew my existing script from Indiana and insisted I be reevaluated. It took THREE YEARS to get it sorted out so I could get back on my meds. 😭

My meds had a noticeable effect almost immediately. Day one, hour one. My depression is functionally gone. My anxiety is under control. I'm generally more productive and happier. For the times when I'm not, I don't hate myself for not being so, b/c I know what's going on and that it's not my fault.
