Legit the NZ press gallery constantly whining about this last election gave cover to this government to very likely disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters (via making it harder to register late).
But I'm sure being able to make a call on the night (you still won't be able to) is more important.

I actually think it’s okay to take a while to count votes to ensure accuracy and other states should do it too but pundits like doing their dumb little election calls and I guess it’s more important that they have fun.
