This thread reminds me that I need to get back to Joyful Militancy (by carla bergman and Nick Montgomery). Joy is a form of protest for marginalized communities!! The world being a dark place is definitely not a reason to suppress joy 👍🏻.

It can feel like our only two choices are to feel appropriately angry and afraid almost all the time (because we’re paying attention), or try to turn it all off, and be part of the far-too-large crowd that isn’t speaking out nearly enough in an unprecedented time when everyone MUST speak out! 2/
But here’s the thing… I’ve stopped buying into that false choice. I’m sure as hell not going to be quiet, but I’ll call out the lies, hypocrisy, corruption, fascism etc with joy & passion rather than anger & fear. It’ll fuel me, not drain me. @urbantruth.bsky.social is an example.
