i’ve had to go digging through siri learning settings and even screen time to get rid of obnoxious crap like suggestions and writing tools.
replacing this gesture that everyone with an iphone uses regularly to drive interactions with your unwanted chatbot is outright evil ui design. there’s no way they actually believe this is a good move beyond driving up interaction numbers.
i still haven’t enabled the “new siri” for two big reasons.
first, i do not and will not ever want to use an ai slop factory for anything.
second, the bozos at apple decided to reassign the good and useful notification center gesture that’s been around since ios 5 to a useless ai chat bot instead.
i filed feedback #FB23136458 with apple regarding the regression in ios 27 where you can’t disable the ai garbage. hopefully this gets fixed in a future beta.
the setting to unlock your mac using your apple watch is really funny because touch id is much, much faster and requires about the same level of effort.
