Ouch. Flood protection infrustructure is typically designed for a 1-in-50-year or 1-in-100-year flood. New study finds, “At nearly half of the 130 sites analyzed in the study, a flood expected once every 100 years in 1900 now occurs at least once per decade.” news.tulane.edu/pr/sea-level...

We wont know until spring if there has been catastrophic breeding failure at some of the local Emperor colonies so it’s🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 time. 😬🐧😬🐧😬🐧3/

This is the third winter heatwave in Antarctica since 2022 (22, 24, 26) This currently is anomalous. If a pattern emerges it’s frightening. This should be taken as a BIG warning ‼️ 6/
Freezing wet moss quickly produces ice crystals inside cells - so ice cactus spines from the inside - dead cells - depending on extent of damage - dead moss. Again next summer will tell the amount of damage 5/
