Also rookie mistake - I forgot to bring kitchen knives with me. Now 'chopping' an onion with a bread knife - it's the only knife in the cottage with any kind of cutting edge.
I have swim in Stonehaven lido. Heated seawater which was v strange but lovely. Lanes and Other People though. I would have deeply regretted not going, am glad I did go, and now I KNOW that I am a solo creature of the dark and peaty loch. Which is nice.

Did a swim. Waves/swell much higher than the picture suggests (which is mostly me anyhoo, but y'know) and I braved GIANT dinner plate sized jellyfish and did not get stang.

Our favourite game this holiday is reading ridiculous reviews of where we are staying. Best was a beach being rated low because "the tide was in all day". But that was before we started reading the Dunnottar Castle reviews. When you wonder why we get the politicians we do, look at TripAdvisor.
