october 2016 was the apex of depression for me. by that point I knew who I was, but was still too scared to take that one big final step.
Soundproof Cell was a coping mechanism, and one of the first times I let my heart speak first and foremost in a game.

it's not a great game, like I say. and it may not be of use to anyone else
but Soundproof Cell is a game I'm glad I made, for me. it really was my key.
(for an idea of how desperate I was: i came out, over the phone, to my parents, drunk and crying my eyes out.
they both accepted me. I immediately went "full-time" and came out to everybody within 24 hours.
i never wore trousers again.
that was September 22nd-23rd, 2018.)
it took 2 more years to come out, and only happened when a series of events got me in such a bad place (the only cat that's ever been 100% mine passing away while I lived 200 miles from her, among other things) that it was basically - find an avenue of happiness, or stop living.
i found the avenue.
