I cannot tell you how often I can describe exactly where something is down to the nearest landmark in whatever room that a member of my family left it in.

There's this aspect of the mental load we don't talk enough about--having to know where everybody's sh*t is.
I think it's a vicious cycle, where mom does most of the tidying up, so she's putting other people's sh*t away, but then when other people need their sh*t, mom has to tell them where it is.
