We’re excited to announce our 16th Anniversary Beer:
Wee Heavy, 8.2%
“The beer is something I’ve been wanting to brew at 8 Sail for a couple of years” explains Paddy Bauwens, our Head Brewer.

Rich, caramel and toffee with some toasty notes are prominent while some dried fruit aroma is likely detectable for the discerning drinker. The warming alcohol is pleasantly rewarding, and complements the full-bodied nature of the ale.

It was decided to do it this year, the 16th anniversary of the brewery.
The style has other names: Strong Scotch and 90 Shilling, and is the strongest of the scotch ales, comparable in strength to a barley wine, but with a less pronounced hop character.

Our own award winning beers are joined by 12 guest beers from other great microbreweries.
We have food from Lincolnshire Smokehouse (Friday) and Koala Kitchen (Saturday) from 5pm.

It was my birthday on Tuesday, and my dad didn't let me down. A mixed case of @8sailbrewery.bsky.social goodness. Not the weekend yet, so a very sessionable "Ploughman's Lunch" EPA. I love this brewery, and this is a great one to revisit.
