I rarely get this angry, but this pisses me off.
Just because a bunch of fools started calling what they do "cognitive science" when it isn't science, doesn't mean that what we do as cognitive scientists isn't.
Go read Von Eckhardt's "What is cognitive science?" if you doubt me.

This diagram has enraged thousands of teachers thousands of times, because it renders something hugely complex (teaching & learning) as something pretty straight-forward. Yet, the speakers at ten thousand lecterns point to it and tell us – ‘Ah, but really, it’s actually far more complex than you would have yourself believe. Because this, colleagues, is Science. And this diagram is but a simplification of what we know – scientifically – happens when children learn.
