Did you know, a “brood patch” is a patch of featherless skin that develops on the underside of birds during the nesting season? This patch of skin is well supplied with blood vessels to transfer heat to their eggs when incubating. #baldeagles #broodpatch #DidYouKnow
This Bald Eagle was admitted after a fight with another eagle. During the examination, our staff discovered a brood patch.
