You know this works in Dying Light as well. They break but not instantly, higher tiers last longer and weapons can be repaired multiple times before entropy kicks in Weapon breaking is more a function of being in over your head. Scrounging is a desperation move compared to crafting

My shoes catching fire and turning to ash halfway through my day isn't purposeful friction. Leaving a wake of obliterated resources is a bad lesson to teach Weapon degradation should always be paired with maintenance, not just "use it and lose it."
