Like, you can write inclusive histories highlighting overlooked stories without repeating falsehoods that can be twisted towards antisemitism and discredit the rest of the project (and don't cite primary sources written 800 years after the event!).
A recent book on Muslim Europe repeats this claim that Jews invited or helped plan the invasion of Spain in 711, despite it long-since being discounted by historians (also weirdly puts 'invasion' in scare quotes). Disappointing to hear this stuff promoted uncritically.
A happy horse in the Liber ordinationum of the medieval City of London, next to some regulations for riding. The London Archives, COL/CS/01/005.
Now also available in the US! Find out how the Hospitallers shaped medieval Britain, and why you should never lend them your pet bird. #medievalsky
