According to the press release, the version of history the province wanted to see displayed was “inconsistent with both the accepted archaeological consensus regarding Innu history of Labrador and Innu Nation’s own understanding of its history.”
The Innu Nation claimed the province of Newfoundland/Labrador pressured them to present an inaccurate exhibition of Innu peoples in Labrador.
