Eric, please, yes or no, you are a citywide elected official in Minneapolis. Your constituents want to know: should voters choose the Democratic presidential candidate in 2028, voting blue no matter who?
Or should they consider abstaining if the candidate isn't left-wing enough?

I hope and trust we’ll beat Trump in 2028, but I also believe we need candidates to break with the status quo that got us here.
More broadly, it is in no way illegitimate to express frustration with a political party or your desire for what it should represent.

At first I found it tiresome and incoherent. But now I realize his amplification of defecting leftists raises fear of lost votes and encourages candidates to move on key issues.

I've seen a bunch of this online, mostly from people less credible than Stancil. I've been a union organizer for almost 30 years and worked on every election in that time period. (I also voted for Harris and protested the genocide.) Posts like this fail to grasp 3 universal truths about elections.
The reason people are concerned about lefties saying “I won’t vote for a moderate Dem” isn’t because they want Newsom. It’s because lefties keep not voting for moderate Dems!
I think all the scolding about it being years til the primary would hit a little harder if WE DIDN’T JUST GO THROUGH THIS
