The only reason to be against this kind of bonus payout that I can think of is that you do not want to encourage anyone to believe that they are owed anything. It’s to set up a forced gratitude economy where it’s unethical to question the fairness of your conditions.

I cannot fathom the idea of making an *absolute killing* on a $750k project, bringing in 100s of millions, and not realizing that everyone involved played a part in that success.
The movie had like 40 crew or so? Can just top everyone up to a cool $1m each and still have absurd ROI.

Watching some folks in my industry trip over themselves to dogpile this lady to essentially say "shut up & dribble" has been so disappointing & it's the exact reason why so many below-the-line folks fear publicly talking about exploitive work conditions.
