It feels like octopath is a sort of distant ‘spiritual successor’ of sorts to LIVE-A-LIVE despite the radically different gameplay design. even as a remake this game absolutely rules, the new voice acting is great and the new arrangements of shimomura’s music sound incredible.

i'm not really a big fan of making composer guesses based on surface level things like "oh this guy tends to work in this style" or "this guy tends to use the same kind of synths" bc those are aspects that are easy to learn - it's not a 'concrete' enough kind of evidence for me.
