Many points in WNO's lawsuit against the Kennedy Center -- including the endowment and recovering donor contact info --are fortold in the January "divorce" story I wrote for @washingtonian.com. washingtonian.com/2026/01/21/w...
Beyond the legality of this, it should be noted in every story about this ridiculous legal battle that the board of trustees of the national performing arts center inserted a bylaw into their foundational documents that functions as a petty self-destruct button for the entire organization.

There’s room for a million wild and wacky and wonderful takes on Shakespeare, but when the this particular approach dominates the field, it gets… tiring. Audiences don’t need a one-to-one correlation with our own lives to connect to the story if everyone does their job well, I PROMISE.

Tickets are still available, so if you're in the area, come by and check it out!
