Been reading Thank You Jeeves and I love all the slang.
Half of it sounds incredibly funny to the modern ear (lots of getting people off, feeling a bit too gay, touching someone for a shilling, and on and on) and there's a bunch of shortenings I've never seen. "due to the circs"
