What a thrill to have our visiting summer SYNAPSE students get to know returning alums! Thanks to Branson ('18), Jorge ('18), and Mona ('16) for joining us for our SYNAPSE reunion lunch today 🧠
Welcome to the 2026 PNI SYNAPSE Internship Program cohort! 🧠 Edriana 🧠 Nancy 🧠 Letitia 🧠 Andrew 🧠 Bobby Carl 🧠 Emma 🧠 Leo 🧠 Alex 🧠 Julianna 🧠 Charvi Here's to a summer of great science (and plenty of coffee + Bent Spoon ice cream)!
A team of @princetonneuro.bsky.social researchers has uncovered a clever way to make viral gene delivery safer for the brain, tackling an unexpected side effect caused by the very virus used to deliver research tools.
We're hiring a postdoc to develop and use custom optical instruments for measuring and manipulating neural activity in worms and flies. Please apply via interfolio: apply.interfolio.com/186001
Kicking off the summer with ice cream, ice dola, and get-to-know-you bingo, thanks to our amazing Climate & Inclusion committee🍦

I have been so excited about this project. In many ways the most surprising thing to me was how seemingly similar the AI-discovered models were to simple ones I thought I understood, even though they fit way better. This means we can also really get what makes them work.

By subtly editing the DNA of the workhorse delivery vehicle—the Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV)—scientists have prevented the virus from triggering an innate immune alarm that can damage critical neural ...

Meet Eyewire II: a new connectomic resource for the mouse retina. ~1 mm² of retina at nanometer resolution, with synapses and circuits of ca. 100,000 neurons, plus visual responses from the ~400 neurons shown in the video! Preprint: doi.org/10.64898/202... Data: eyewire.ai 🧠📈 🧠💻🧪 #VisionScience
How do we predict what’s going to happen next? In a new paper, we @arikahn.bsky.social @licezhang.bsky.social @nathanieldaw.bsky.social @catehartley.bsky.social ask how kids, teens, and adults solve this problem. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...
